"Tailwalker"
Sailfish
26" high X 12" wide

There is something about billfish - and sailfish in particular - that makes me think of Hemingway. And there's just nothing to match the adrenaline rush of a hooked sailfish "tail walking" spectacularly across the water. Whether trolling the gulf stream with lures and 'hoos or kite fishing with live bait, this is the fish we all look for.  Last fall, I spent a couple days fishing out of Playa Flamingo in Costa Rica aboard Capt. Sonny Kocsis' beautiful 31' Bertram, Wet Ass 2.  Our group managed to catch and release over 30 sailfish in just two days.  At some points there would be three of us hooked up and fighting sails - at the same time.  Just unbelievably great fishing.  This is a beautiful representation of a twisting, leaping sail done in copper and mounted on a burl oak  base.
