"Grander"

In 1988, on the last day of a 3-day offshore tournament, I hooked a blue just like this guy - the only billfish hooked during the whole tournament. Alas, he hit the smallest (15lb.) rig we were trolling - and then the reel "drag" mechanism failed and I was forced to use my ungloved thumb to slow the fish - I fought him for about 15 minutes before blistering skin caused me to break him off. Instead of winning the tournament, all we ended up with were some spectacular pictures. LARGE leaping representation of the grandest billfish of them all. In copper and mounted on coral rock.
